Su familia, sus relaciones personales, su valle de Elqui natal, sus viaje, sus alegr\u00edas y sus tristezas fueron plasmados en su espl\u00e9ndida obra por la que recibi\u00f3 numerosos reconocimientos y premios. El m\u00e1s importante, el Nobel de Literatura que le fue otorgado en 1945 por su l\u00edrica llena de sentimientos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Recogemos algunos cap\u00edtulos de su vida,\u00a0 junto con peque\u00f1os extractos de los versos y prosas que nac\u00edan de estas vivencias.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Evocaci\u00f3n de la madre.<\/strong> <em>\u201c&#8230;Gracias en este d\u00eda, y en todos los d\u00edas, por la capacidad que me diste de recoger la belleza de la tierra como un agua que se recoge con los labios, y tambi\u00e9n por la riqueza de dolor que puedo llevar sin morir en la hondura de mi coraz\u00f3n&#8230;..\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>La maestra rural,<\/strong> homenaje a la figura de su hermanastra Emelina, que tanto influy\u00f3 en su formaci\u00f3n. \u201c&#8230;.<em>La maestra era alegre. \u00a1Pobre mujer herida!.Su sonrisa fue un modo de llorar con bondad. Por donde la sandalia rota y enrojecida,\u00a0 tal sonrisa la insigne flor de su santidad.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cosas<\/strong>, inspirado en las monta\u00f1as en las que pas\u00f3 su primeros a\u00f1os en Vicu\u00f1a. <em>\u201cUn rio suena siempre cerca. Ha cuarenta a\u00f1os que lo siento. Es canturia de mi sangre o bien un ritmo que me dieron. O el rio Elqui de mi infancia, que me repecho y me vadeo. Nunca lo pierdo, pecho a pecho, como dos ni\u00f1os, nos tenemos\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Balada<\/strong>, escrito cuando se rompe su relaci\u00f3n con Romelio Ureta Carvajal, el gran amor de su vida. <em>\u201cEl pas\u00f3 con otra, yo lo v\u00ed pasar. Siempre dulce el viento y el camino en paz. \u00a1Y estos ojos m\u00edseros, lo vieron pasar. El va amando a otra, por la tierra en flor. Ha abierto el espino; pasa una canci\u00f3n\u201d.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Ternura,<\/strong> poemario publicado en 1924 donde da vida a las emociones que le provocan los ni\u00f1os, cerca de los que pasa gran parte de su vida.<em>\u201dPiececitos de ni\u00f1o, azulosos de frio, \u00a1como os ven y no os cubren, Dios m\u00edo! \u00a1Piececitos heridos por los guijarros todos, ultrajados de nieves y lodos!<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Una gran escritora y referencia de la literatura latinoamericana de todos los tiempos.
