En los últimos tiempos, las investigaciones y propuestas lingüísticas y didácticas han situado al componente léxico como eje vertebrador del  lenguaje, ya que se entiende este como la base sobre la que se sustenta la competencia comunicativa del hablante.
 A partir de esta premisa, presentamos una recopilación de trabajos en los que el estudio del léxico es el tema central, realizándose diversas aproximaciones al mismo desde la lexicografía, las lenguas de  especialidad, la variación lingüística y la didáctica del español. 
 In recent times, linguistic and didactic research and proposals have placed the lexical component as the backbone of language, since it is understood as the basis upon which the communicative competence of the  speaker is built. Following this premise, we present a compilation of  works in which the study of the lexicon is the central theme, making various approaches to it from lexicography, specialty languages, linguistic variation and the teaching of Spanish.
