El volumen recoge una serie de trabajos que abarcan las últimas tendencias en la investigación humanística, haciendo especial hincapié en la literatura española medieval. Indudablemente, desde hace mucho tiempo, los estudios humanísticos han sufrido cambios en las tendencias metodológicas; sin embargo, últimamente, hemos asistido a un cambio real de paradigma que ha llevado e invitado a los investigadores a una profunda reflexión sobre los nuevos enfoques. Los distintos trabajos que aquí se recogen ofrecen un cuadro completo sobre las herramientas que se pueden utilizar para investigar sobre la Edad Media y, asimismo, dejan entrever las nuevas direcciones emprendidas en el ámbito literario hispánico medieval.
