In January 1986 disaffected arts graduate Donovan Sinclair, aged 22, leaves Thatcher\'s Britain to walk across South America, searching for self-discovery and adventure -and a completely new life.
It will be a breathless year of transformation, disillusionment and fulfillment for him - a year of finding and losing - as he discovers a tortured continent struggling to regain its dignity after the horrors of military dictatorship and appalling repression.

Duncan R Shaw (Dr) is Professor of History and Political Science at Schiller International University Madrid Campus, Spain. He taught at several schools and universities in South America between 1988 and 1995. The Year of Finding and Losing is his third novel. All proceeds will go to charity.
