Galicia de conto

El cuento popular, al igual que la literatura popular de tradición oral se acaba adaptando a las necesidades de la cultura que lo recrea, conserva y difunde como algo propio. Por eso no es más que la constatación de una realidad. En esta obra se recoge una selección de cuentos (agrupados en 7 bloques temáticos: cuentos maravillosos, religiosos, de la vida cotidiana, colorados, de animales, del mundo urbano-tecnológico y de cuentacuentos) que hemos calificado de "gallegos", ya que fueron recogidos en Galicia, y que por tanto reflejan valores y creencias del pueblo gallego de ayer y de hoy, aunque en muchos casos puedan tener sus propias versiones en otras tierrras, a veces bastante alejadas de nosotros. This volume of the Galicia para soñar collection provides a fascinating insight into the secrets of the Galician oral storytelling tradition from a literary perspective, analyzing aspects such as its structure or principal stylistic features. In addition, in the second part of this work, Xosé Manuel González Reboredo and Manuel Quintáns Suárez situate the role of oral narrative within its social context, in an attempt to discover the reasons why it has managed to survive the test of time and the function it fulfils within society. Traditionally, these types of tales and fables in Galicia include references to the presence of a religious culture adapted to the needs of everyday life -family and the home, seen as a set of individuals and goods-, as well as topics related to the natural world. Finally, these two university lecturers include an extensive collection of some of the best-known tales, grouped together according to themes such as fantasy, religion, everyday life, spicy tales, animals and the urban and technological world.
